Questions

Where do the numbers come from?
We trained a statistical model on roughly 70,000 players across 15 years of in-game seasons. It reads the same ten ratings the game shows you when you scout a quarterback, plus their archetype and star rating.
Why doesn't it predict a recruit's current OVR?
Because that is not a number you have while recruiting, and it is not the one you need. Recruiting shows you stars and, once you scout, these ten ratings. The question worth answering is where the player ends up, so that is the one the projector answers.
Why does a transfer get two numbers?
The portal hides a transfer's overall until you take them, so the model predicts that as well as their peak. It also accounts for class year. A senior has far less growth left than a freshman, and ignoring that would badly over-project upperclassmen.
How accurate is it, honestly?
Peak OVR lands within 3.1 points on average for recruits. Going off star rating alone is off by 3.37. That is an edge, not an oracle. Use it to break a tie between prospects rather than as a guarantee about any one of them.
What do I get by making an account?
Two things. You stop typing ratings in: upload a screenshot of the recruit and we read the scouted ratings off it onto your board. And you get ability tier odds — the chance a quarterback develops each of their abilities to each tier. Both stay free for quarterbacks. Plus opens the same thing up for every other position.
